9 Tips For Healthy Hair

Hello lovelies!
I had a request to share how I keep my hair healthy and shiny… ask and you shall receive !
I’ve put together a list of things that I do to prevent damage to my hair, products I use to keep it healthy and shiny, and everyday things that make a world of difference. So read on if you want to know all my tips and tricks 😉 !

1) I try to keep a good balance of clean and greasy. I really try not to over wash my hair because it takes all the natural oils out and makes it dry. I tend to wash my hair every 2-3 days, but sometimes I stretch it for longer.
2) To help prolong this on day 2 or 3 (depending) I use Batiste dry shampoo on my roots to help give myself some volume and to take away the excess oil. (Should I do a post on my dry shampoo routine?)
3) I try to limit the times I use hot tools. I almost NEVER blow dry my hair, I always let it air dry unless I have some sort of event to go to and I need it dry fast.
I am usually at home with Cam so I don’t bother doing my hair on a day-to-day basis, but at least 2-3 times a week I will either straighten it or curl it.

4) On the days where I know I will be using heat on my hair, I make sure I use my Number 4 Prep and Protect spray. It not only acts as a heat protectant but it also has a UV shield in it, bonus no? I got mine in a birch box and I have been using it ever since.

5) I really try not to put my hair in a pony tail because it pulls and rips my hair, I find it better if I twist it into a bun when I need it out of my face ( When you’re a Mom this is pretty much 24/7.
6) Everytime I wash my hair (once it’s towel dried) I put Moroccan oil on the tips/lower half of my hair. My hair literally drinks this stuff up. It helps keep it shiny and smooth, not to mention it helps my ends from getting dry and gross (As a plus it smells AMAZING). After I do this I spray a detangler (Beauty Protector) on my ends and lower half of my hair as well. Just as an added bonus to keep them nice. I’ll link them both down below!
7) Drink WATER!
I feel like this is something that we all try to do, but often forget. When I am constatntly drinking water, my skin, hair, and body thank me. It helps to flush you out and to rid your body of toxins. Try to keep a water bottle with you and just sip it throughout the day. Try to see how many times you can refill it.
8) Do a hair mask! This is something I love love loveeeee doing. I love getting the Marc Anthony Moroccan oil one. It makes your hair smell and feel AMAZING after. Or if I don’t have any of that on hand I just put either coconut oil or moroccan oil in my hair, braid it, and leave it overnight. You’ll wake up feeling like a goddess.

9) Last one is random but I always brush my hair before I wash it; hair is most fragile when it is wet so brushing it beforehand eliminates any tangles that you may have before so you don’t rip out half your head after it’s clean.
